President Buhari reappoints CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele for another term. Mr Godwin Emefiele will lead the Central Bank of Nigeria for the next 5 Solid years. He's the first CBN governors to be re-appointed. The President believed his work in the past years was commendable. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Legislator.

President Buhari hosted the Emir of Qatar on Investment and Lake Chad Emergency

On the front burners were the recharge of Lake Chad with water from the Congo Basin, so as to grant succour to the more than 30 million people adversely affected by the shrinkage of the lake over the years.
On the receding Lake Chad, he said of the over 30 million people affected, more than half were in Nigeria, and it has contributed greatly to illegal migration, as innumerable youths dare the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea, in order to find safer shores in Europe. A large number die in the process.
President Buhari said, adding: "Recharging the lake will bring back fishing, farming, animal husbandry, and the youths won't be attracted by insurgency or illegal migration. We want Qatar to be involved because of the humanitarian nature of the endeavour." He also sought investments in petroleum, power, aviation, agriculture, railways, and many other sectors.
The Emir, Sheikh Hamad Al-thani said he was honoured and happy to be in Nigeria for the first time, stressing it was a reciprocal visit to the one paid to Qatar in 2016 by President Buhari.

Buhari Attends Security Meeting In Chad

The Nigeria President is set to return to Nigeria this evening after attending a Security Conference at Chad. Muhammadu Buhari led a delegations from at least 22 member-nations to the extraordinary meeting of CEN-SAD on Saturday at the Radisson Blu Hotel, N’Djamena. He reiterated the need for African leaders to address security issues in many part of the continent.
Nigeria has experience lapses in security for long and this conference may signal a new dawn for the people especially those that reside in the northern part of Nigeria who are victims of incessant attacks.
